The Stars have had an interesting start to the season, dropping eight of their first nine games before bounding back to play great hockey over the last few weeks. Dallas has won seven of its last nine matches and is moving up in the Central Division.

With just 45 goals allowed, the Stars actually have one of the NHL's stingiest defenses this season. The problems have come from trying to net the puck on the other end. Their 43 goals scored is tied for last in the Western Conference. Something that will plague the already struggling offense is an injury to left wing Roope Hintz, whose nine goals lead the team. Hintz sustained a lower body injury last week and will reportedly miss at least a couple of weeks.

Calgary has won four of its last six and is one of the six Western Conference teams with 10 wins. Contrary to how things have played out with the Stars, the Flames have both scored and conceded goals in bunches this season. In their last five wins, they have averaged just a tick under five goals per game.

Left wing Matthew Tkachuk looks to continue on the soaring trajectory his career is taking. The fourth-year player had a bit of a breakout year last season and leads the Flames with 10 goals this year. He adds nine assists to his stat line and has registered at least one point in four of his last five games.

The Dallas Stars have started to find some of their offense again this season, but it will be a struggle in this game for the Stars. The Flames have a better offense and that will make a difference in the game, not to mention the Flames have better all around talent that is younger and will not be as fatigued in the game giving the Flames the edge. Final Score Prediction, Calgary Flames win 4-3.
