Sharks at Canucks 1/18/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

San Jose has to find a way to score. The last game the Sharks played in was a 4-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on the day. The Sharks have managed to get a 21-24-4 record overall on the year so far.

The offense for the Sharks has been the reason for so many losses on the year with a total of 2.65 goals a game being scored. The defense for San Jose has allowed 3.29 goals a game so far. The power play has converted at 17% on the year and the penalty kill is the best in the NHL at 87.7% of the penalties killed off.

Vancouver is coming into the game here playing decent hockey on the year and actually are sitting in 3rd place in the Pacific Division so far. The Canucks are sitting on a 26-18-4 record so far and in the last game the Canucks ended up getting a 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

The offense for Vancouver has played decent on the year with 3.23 goals a game being scored. The defense for Vancouver has allowed a total of 3.11 goals a game. The power play has converted at a clip of 23.6% on the year and the penalty kill is sitting at 80.3% on the season.

The Canucks are playing at home in this game and that will definitely help the Canucks out quite a bit. What else helps the Canucks out is the fact that the Sharks offense has been missing most of the season and while that may not sound like it is helpful since the Sharks usually have a great defense, the lack of a good offense makes it hard for the Sharks to stay on top of their game defensively. Look for the Canucks to take advantage of the bad offense of the  Sharks to ramp up the pressure on the Sharks defense. Final Score Prediction, Vancouver Canucks win 4-2.
