The Ottawa Senators look for a second straight victory on Friday when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. The Senators defeated the Colorado Avalanche 5-2 on Wednesday as Matt Duchene scored a pair of goals and handed out one assist. Anders Nilsson stopped 30 shots in net for Ottawa. The Senators won for the first time on home ice since December 17.
Carolina had a two-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday by the New York Rangers 6-2. Saku Maenalanen scored both goals for the Hurricanes in the loss. Curtis McElhinney made 22 saves in net for the Hurricanes. Carolina is now 22-19-5 with 49 points and fifth in the Metropolitan division.
