The Buffalo Sabres are not playing at the same level that was available when the season started. The Sabres, this year have posted a 19-18-7 record on the year so far. Buffalo does face the Canucks on Saturday in what is sure to be a battle. The Sabres in the game before the Canucks game was a 5-1 loss to the Saint Louis Blues.

The Sabres offense has not been that great on the year so far with 2.89 goals a game. The defense for Buffalo has started to have issues giving up 3.16 goals a game. The power play for the Sabres has converted at a clip of 17.6% on the year and the penalty kill is sitting at 74% on the year.

The Red Wings have to be banking on becoming one of the worst teams in recent history for the NHL. The Red Wings have won the past 2 games on the ice, but it was a shocking win for the team. The Red Wings, though, have posted a 12-30-3 record on the year so far.

On the year the Red Wings have the worst offense in the NHL with only 2.18 goals a game being scored. The defense for the Red Wings is also among the worst in the NHL giving up 3.76 goals a game. The Red Wings have converted on the power play at 15.5% on the year. The Red Wings defense has killed off 73.7% of the power plays faced on the season.

The Red Wings have not played good at all this year. Granted, the past 2 games may look impressive for the Red Wings, but it was a false hope. The teams the Red Wings played those games in were not that strong and really had a lot of problems. Look for the Sabres, though, to finally have a decent showing offensively in this game and bring home the win in the game with their offense showing up and the defense shutting down the lackluster Red Wings offense. Final Score Prediction, Buffalo Sabres win 3-2.
