The Pittsburgh Penguins will open up their new season on Thursday night as they get set to host the Buffalo Sabres. Pittsburgh is stocked up again this season and will look for better results than last season. The Penguins have made the playoffs 13 straight seasons and won the Stanley Cup two times over the last four years. Pittsburgh was swept in the playoffs last season but look to kick off a new season in the right direction.

Matt Murray the 25 year old goaltender will make the start for Pittsburgh on Thursday. Murray went 29-14-4 last season through 50 games in the net. Murray had 4 shutouts and posted a 2.69 goals against average.

The Buffalo Sabres start their season with a tough test ahead of them in Pittsburgh. The Sabres will play two of their first six games on the road with then Penguins being the toughest one. Buffalo has not made the playoffs in 8 straight seasons. The Sabres welcome in old timer Ralph Krueger as their head coach.

Carter Hutton the veteran goalkeeper will make the start for the Sabres in net. Hutton made 50 games played last season but posted a losing record. Hutton went 18-25-2 on the season with no shutouts. Hutton posted a 3.00 goals against average.

Both goalies will be fresh and on their games in this season opener. The Penguins have the better team and the edge at home but the value is in the total. The under is 8-2 in Sabres last 10 games as an underdog of +110 to +150. The under is 6-2-2 in Sabres last 10 vs. Metropolitan. Final Score Prediction, Pittsburgh Penguins win 3-1 but, the play is on the UNDER.
