The New York Islanders took on the Islanders on Monday night before heading back to their own ice. New York is 3rd in the Metropolitan with a 27-12-4 record. The Islanders have won four of their last ten games and lost to the Bruins in overtime on Saturday. New York carries a 14-5-3 home record. 

Thomas Greiss will make his 20th start in goal for the Islanders. Greiss is 12-7 on the season with 46 goals allowed. Greiss carries a 2.59 goals against average with a .919 save percentage. 

The Islanders will play on back to back nights but don't have any travel involved. Detroit has been a bad team all season and it will show in this game on Tuesday. The Red Wings struggle to score goals consistently and will have issues stopping the Islanders rush. The Islanders dominate this game but the value is in the total.
