The Philadelphia Flyers (37 - 25 - 12, 86 pts) are heading home this week to host the visiting New York Rangers (32 - 33 - 8, 72 pts). Philadelphia will have the home crowd behind them at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA. New York comes into town having just gotten rocked by Columbus while Philadelphia lost in a shootout against Detroit. Both Philadelphia and New York have struggled to live up to preseason expectations but the Flyers are still competitive enough in the Metropolitan Division for this game to matter.

Philadelphia will be hitting the ice with a relatively complete team that has been playing well enough on both sides of the ice. Philadelphia is led by Claude Giroux (26 goals, 61 assists) on the offensive end of the game. Philadelphia is 14th in the NHL in goals per game and the Flyers should be able to generate some offense against New York's middling defensive abilities. Philadelphia is middle of the pack on defense.
The New York Rangers are hitting the road this week to try and steal a division game from a nearby rival. New York is 16th in the NHL in goals per game and the Rangers are 7th in the NHL in power-play percentage. Max Zuccarello (15 goals, 34 assists) has been a lone bright spot for the Rangers on offense and he'll need some help in order to keep ahead of Philadelphia.

The Flyers are looking to bounce back after the loss to the Red Wings. However, the Rangers have been struggling on the year so far. Look for the Flyers to easily bounce back here in this game over the Rangers. We like Philadelphia to defeat New York in this game, 4 - 3.
