This Tuesday, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will head to Little Caesars Arena to take on Dylan Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings. The Pittsburgh Penguins will enter this game against the Detroit Red Wings following a massive win against the Washington Capitals this past Saturday which resulted in a final score of 4-3. The Penguins have now won two of their last three games played.
In the game against the Capitals, Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin made a phenomenal play with under 1:30 left in the 3rd period as he picked the pocket of the Washington Capitals and went down on a break away to score the game winning goal. Malkin is clearly not the same player he was when he was in his prime, but even at 36 years of age, he is still showing the entire league why he’s still one of the best.
The Detroit Red Wings will enter this game against the Pittsburgh Penguins following an embarrassing loss against the Philadelphia Flyers this past Saturday which resulted in a final score of 3-0. The Red Wings have been playing nothing short of horrendous lately as they have now lost five of their last six games played.
The Detroit Red Wings were looking like a playoff team a little over a month ago but ever since they traded Tyler Bertuzzi to the Bruins, something has been off with the Red Wings. The Red Wings captain had a tear in his eye when he was asked about the Bertuzzi trade as he just signed an 8-year deal the day before. One positive thing Red Wings fans can be happy about is Detroit's future, Steve Yzerman has drafted some unbelievable young players over the past few seasons.
