Pittsburgh is one of the few teams that is in the position to run down the Washington Capitals. The Penguins have a 33-14-5 record on the year and is sitting in second place in the Metro. The last time the Penguins took to the ice it was a 4-3 win over the Washington Capitals.

Bryan Rust leads the Penguins in goal scoring with 22 goals. Evgeni Malkin has managed to get 38 assist and 54 points total. The defense for Pittsburgh has allowed 2.73 goals a game, but the offense is averaging 3.33 goals a game.

The Lightning are looking to chase down their division leaders as well in the Bruins. The Lightning are sitting in second place with a 33-15-5 record and has been able to get 71 points on the year. In their last game on the ice the Lightning were able to pick up a 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights.

Offensively the Lightning have been led by Nikita Kucherov with 24 goals, 37 assist, and 61 points total. The Lightning have scored a total of 3.58 goals per game, but the defense has allowed 2.79 goals a game on the year.

The game here will be a battle between a couple of teams that are surging at the right time and making a good run towards the playoffs. Look for the Lightning, though, to play slightly better in the game here with their offense being able to control the Penguins defense in what ends up being  a low scoring affair between these two teams. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Lightning win 2-1.
