On Sunday, the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Philadelphia Flyers for Game 6 of their best of seven NHL Eastern Conference quarterfinals series. Philadelphia staved off elimination on Friday with a 4-2 win at Pittsburgh to narrow the Penguins lead to 3-2.

The Flyers scored two third period goals on Friday to break a 2-2 tie entering the final period to skate home with the win on Penguins ice. Four different Flyers scored as Sean Couturier returned to play after suffering a leg injury in a collision with a teammate that jeopardized his missing the remainder of the postseason.

Michael Neuwirth was solid in goal stopping 30 shots. Matt Murray stopped 21 shots for Pittsburgh in goal. Neuwirth started in net for the first time during the postseason in almost two years. The return of Couturier was critical after he sat out Philadelphia’s 5-0 loss in Game 5.
Sidney Crosby leads Pittsburgh in playoff goals scored with five and in points with 10. Jake Guentzel leads in assists with six. Regular season goal scoring leader Evgeni Malkin has three goals during the postseason. Goalie Matt Murray is 3-2-0 with a goal’s against average of 1.63 and a save percentage of .933 in five games during the opening series of the postseason.

Sean Couturier leads Philadelphia in playoff goals scored with two and points with four. Jakub Voracek leads the Flyers in assists with three. In four appearances in net, Brian Elliott is 1-3-0 with a goal’s against average of 4.74 and a save percentage of .856. Elliott was benched in Game 5 and replaced by Michal Neuvirth who will likely start in net on Sunday. Neuvirth is 1-0-0 with a goals against of 2.61 and a save percentage of .911 in two appearances in net during this series.

The road team is 4-0 in the last 4 games between the two teams. Pittsburgh has won each of its last four games on Philadelphia ice and 7 of the last 9 meetings overall against the Flyers.
