Ottawa is going to have to play great in the game here to pull out a win. The Senators in their last game were able to pick up their second straight win by taking down Detroit by a 4-3 score. The win allowed the Senators to improve to 23-31-12 on the year so far.

The offense for Ottawa has bounced all over the place on the year with 2.68 goals a game coming out on average. The defense for Ottawa has allowed 3.32 goals per game. When it comes to the power play the Senators have converted at 15.3% on the year and the penalty kill is sitting at 76.9% on the year.

The Penguins are in the middle of a free fall that has seen the Penguins dropping 6 straight games. The losses that have mounted even included a loss on the road to the San Jose Sharks by a 5-0 score.

This season the Penguins offense has not been that bad with 3.14 goals per game. The defense for the Penguins have allowed only 2.78 goals a game. The power play for Pittsburgh has not been horrible with 20.3% conversion, but the penalty kill for the Penguins is sitting at 81.7% on the year.

Pittsburgh is going to need to get  a win in the game here to get the confidence boost that is needed, but also for the Penguins to avoid falling any further back in the Metro Division from the first and now second place teams. Ottawa has played good in the past couple of games, but on the road in a very hostile PPG Arena will make it nearly impossible for the Senators to get a win here as the Penguins get the win here. Final Score Prediction, Pittsburgh Penguins win 3-2.
