The Ottawa Senators will continue a preseason road trip Thursday night against the Montreal Canadiens. Ottawa comes into their 7th preseason game 3-3 thus far following back-to-back 5-4 wins over this Montreal team. Anton Forsberg struggled a bit in the net for Ottawa allowing four goals on 25 shots to post a .840 save percentage but shut the Canadians out in the first period to get the win.

Offensively Ottawa is scoring the puck well averaging 3.5 goals on 26.8 shots per game as a team. Shane Pinto leads the way for the Ottawa offense with seven points on the season to go along with a team high four goals. Claude Giroux is the top set up man for Ottawa with four assists this year.

The Montreal Canadiens come into Thursday struggling immensely as they are winless through the first six games of this preseason. Sam Motembault was obliterated in the net for Montreal posting a .783 save percentage after allowing five goals on 23 shots in the game.

The biggest issue Montreal has had this preseason is the goal disparity as the Canadians are scoring 2.17 goals per game on 23.2 shots but are allowing four goals per game on nearly 29 shots. Cole Caufield is the biggest bright spot in the Montreal offense leading the team with four points to go along with a team high three goals.

The Ottawa Senators are much better team in this matchup and it will again show on Thursday. Ottawa has already beaten Montreal in two consecutive games and will extend that streak to three in this game period take Ottawa to do enough to keep Montreal winless this preseason Thursday night.
