The Kings are glad to be back from their disappointing six-game road trip which was not that successful as first planned. After having a terrific start and winning six straight home games, the team only won one game on the road in Dallas 3-1.

The Kings simply copied their performance from last year when they regularly experienced longer winning and losing streaks. The reason may be that the team without Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik could not score goals and the 70s’ line with Tofolli, Carter and Pearson could bear that all offensively.
The Kings’ defenceman Drew Doughty noted that his team played well on the home ice, however performance and the results on the road have been upsetting and disappointing. However, the good news for the Kings was that both Kopitar with Gaborik were back and should boost some offence. Both played in the last two games and especially Gaborik had several chances but did score. The Kings’ coach Darryl Sutter was happy with his performance and added that it is only matter of time when he starts producing goals.

The Islanders, conversely, have been struggling recently. The team has lost three straight games and only scored one goal in the last two games. On top of that, they will also play in Anaheim the night before this game.

LA Kings -1.5 (+110)

To conclude, the Kings are slowly picking up and will play two games on the home ice. They know they lost many points on the road so they want to get six points from those upcoming games. Final score, focused and determined Kings will beat tired Islanders 5-3.
