The NHL preseason continues to roll on Monday with seven games across the board. As teams continue to jostle and rotate their lineup to figure out their lineups heading into the regular season Monday will bring an action-packed day.
Boston Bruins at New Jersey Devils
The Boston Bruins come into Monday 1-1 thus far this preseason as they continue to rotate and rest players. Boston will continue to try out different lineups Monday night as they continue to work towards the regular season. New Jersey comes into Monday undefeated thus far this preseason and will continue to roll in front of their home crowd. Despite resting players New Jersey will do enough again to pick up their fourth win of the preseason.
Pick: New Jersey Devils
Toronto Maple Leafs at Montreal Canadiens
Toronto comes into Monday playing well this preseason with two wins in three games already. Toronto will control this game as they have the better depth and line up even with players sitting out. Montreal will continue to struggle as they have yet to find their way this preseason. Take Toronto to do enough Monday night to get their third win on the road.
Pick: Toronto Maple Leafs
Columbus Blue Jackets at Carolina Hurricanes
This is a matchup of two teams that will play well all season and it will show from the opening faceoff. Columbus has two wins in four games this preseason and will continue to compete on Monday. Carolina was one of the best teams in the NHL last year and it has shown this preseason as they are undefeated through two games. Carolina will continue their tear as they pick up their third win of the preseason on Monday.
Pick: Carolina Hurricanes
Pittsburgh Penguins at Detroit Red Wings
Both teams come into this game having struggled somewhat through the preseason as each will look to right their wrongs Monday night. Pittsburgh will play their fourth game thus far as they will continue to move and try out players in different situations. Detroit has looked solid through their first two games and will look to build on that success Monday. Take Detroit to do enough in front of their home commands to get their second win of the preseason.
Pick: Detroit Red Wings
Colorado Avalanche at Dallas Stars
The Colorado Avalanche were the best team in the NHL last season and have faltered somewhat in the preseason. Colorado has seemed very uninterested in the preseason as many key players are limited or not playing at all. Dallas on the other hand is rotating lineups and trying out players to figure things out heading into the year. Look for Dallas to do enough on their home ice to beat the reigning champs Monday night in preseason action.
Pick: Dallas Stars
Montreal Canucks at Edmonton Oilers
The Montreal Canucks have been bad all preseason and will continue that trend on Monday. Montreal has yet to figure things out as they are winless through their first two games. Edmonton on the other hand has one win in three games and will continue to build on that momentum. Look for Edmonton to do enough Monday night to even their preseason record at 2-2 with the win.
Pick: Edmonton Oilers
Seattle Kraken at Calgary Flames
The young Seattle team has looked great this preseason as they are undefeated through two games. Seattle seems to be evolving in the league as their young players are starting to figure things out. Calgary on the other hand has been dominant as well with three wins in four games and will look to continue that momentum Monday at home. Calgary will do enough on their home ice to overwhelm the young Seattle team leading to their fourth win.
Pick: Calgary Flames
