As the NHL season quickly approaches a handful of top players around the league have the highest odds to take home the most prestigious award in the NHL. Heading into the season there is 1 clear cut favorite and several other elite players hot on his heels.

2022-23 NHL MVP Odds

  • Connor McDavid +250
  • Auston Matthews+400
  • Leon Draisaitl +800
  • Nathan MacKinnon +1,000

Connor McDavid

Connor McDavid is one of the best players in all of hockey and will continue his dominance this season. McDavid has already won multiple MVPS and narrowly missed out on #3 last season. After a stellar regular season McDavid dominated in the playoffs scoring more than 30 points in just 16 games and has him firmly slated as the favorite to take home the MVP this year.

Auston Matthews

Matthews is the reigning defending NHL MVP after an incredible season a year ago. Matthews totaled over 100 points a year ago and will be in position this season to reach that benchmark again. Matthews has the best shot to rundown McDavid if he can find a performance to match that of a year ago.

Leon Draisaitl

Draisaitl has the third best odds of any player in the NHL this season and will play alongside Connor McDavid this year. With most teams locked in on McDavid game after game Draisaitl will have the ability to produce quality number in bunches. If he can perform in big moments throughout the year Leon Draisaitl could slip in and steal the MVP award.

Nathan MacKinnon

Nathan MacKinnon is perhaps a long shot to win the MVP, but he will be a key factor on one of the best teams in the NHL this season. MacKinnon played in 65 games last year and scored 32 goals in route to an 88 point season. If McKinnon can stay on the ice for more games this season it's possible he narrows the gap giving himself a legitimate chance to win the MVP.

Connor McDavid was the best player in hockey for much of the season a year ago and could feel robbed after not winning an MVP. McDavid dominated all season and carried that momentum into a stellar playoff performance. Look for McDavid to put it all together this season as he again takes home an MVP award. NHL MVP Prediction, Connor McDavid.
