With the Islanders they have to be excited the playoff pool was expanded this year. The expansion allowed the Islanders to make the playoffs and do so without having to fight for the Wild Card spot that the Islanders were starting to fight for on the year. Now, the Islanders will have to bounce back quickly and with the way the Islanders played in the regular season they could have a good chance of playing at a very high level right out of the gate here.

When it comes to the scoring on the year the Islanders were able to rely on Mathew Barzal with 60 points total. Barzal ended up leading the Islanders in the assist department as well with 41 assist. The goal scorer for the Islanders has been the job of Brock Nelson with 26 goals.

The net for the Islanders was protected in a shared goalie heading. The main goalie with a total of 45 games played was Semyon Varlamov. He posted a 19-14-6 record with a 2.62 goals against average, but ended up with 91.4% of the shots saved. The other goalie the Islanders relied on was Thomas Greiss who played in 31 games while posting a 16-9-4 record. He allowed only 2.74 goals per game, but ended up turning away 91.3% of the shots sent towards him.

The Islanders are going to look to get started quickly in the restart program. The problem is the Islanders may not be able to get off as fast as what they would like. That could definitely be a problem that could plague the team here. However, it all depends on which part of the Islanders show up, if it is the team that played great during the first part of the year the Islanders will be good, but if it is the Islanders team that did not show up great the Islanders may struggle.
