New Jersey Devils at Boston Bruins 10/8/22 - NHL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The New Jersey Devils continue a northeast road trip Saturday night with a game in Boston,MA against the Boston Bruins. New Jersey has played well this preseason with four wins through six games played but have last two of the last three including a 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders in their last game. Mackenzie Blackwood had one of his worst games of the preseason thus far allowing five goals on 21 shots in 60 minutes of action.

Offensively New Jersey has been mediocre thus far this preseason averaging only 2.5 goals on 28.5 shots per game, but their defense has been outstanding allowing only 1.8 three goals per game. The Boston Bruins return home Saturday one game above .500 this preseason following a win over the New York Rangers. Jeremy Swayman struggled in the net but did just enough posting a .875 save percentage after allowing four goals on 32 shots in 60 minutes to secure the win for Boston.

Boston has been mediocre on the offensive side of the puck everything 2.6 goals on 28.8 shots per game as a team. Mark McLaughlin leads the Boston offense with four points to go along with a team high two goals on nine shots. Pavel Zacha leads the way for the Boston Bruins with three assists in the preseason.

The New Jersey Devils are the better team playing the better hockey coming into Saturday and that will be the difference in this game.
