Nashville Predators at Buffalo Sabres 3/21/23 - NHL Picks & Predictions

In Tuesday night NHL action, the Nashville Predators will travel to the KeyBank Center to take on the Buffalo Sabres. The Predators (34-26-8) are looking to snap a three-game losing streak and are five points back in the race for the final Western Conference playoff spot. Nashville has struggled all season long to generate offense (2.74 goals per game) and is led in scoring by D Roman Josi with 59 points. 

On Sunday, Nashville was unable to solve New York G Jaroslav Halak (22 saves) during a 7-0 road loss. The Predators were outshot by a 34-22 margin and failed to score on their lone power play opportunity. G Kevin Lankinen surrendered four goals and was pulled midway through the first period.

The Buffalo Sabres have just two victories in their last ten games and are currently six points back in the chase for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. The Sabres (33-30-6) rank third in the league in scoring at 3.58 goals per game and are led in scoring by RW Tage Thompson with 87 points. On Sunday, Buffalo was outclassed during a 7-0 home loss versus Boston.

Buffalo trailed 3-0 after one period and could not get any of their 26 shots on goal past Boston G Jeremy Swayman. The Sabres lost 27 of 47 face offs and were stifled on their four power play chances. Buffalo G Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 18 saves and saw his record fall to 15-11-4 on the season.
