Montreal Canadiens at Vegas Golden Knights 6/16/21 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 06/15/2021 at 3:11 PM ET

The Montreal Canadiens look to bounce back from a loss in Game 1 when visiting the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday for Game 2 of their Stanley Cup semifinals best-of-seven series. Montreal was defeated by Vegas 4-1 on Monday in Game 1, which snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Canadians. Cole Caufield scored the only goal of the game for Montreal while Carey Price made 26 saves in net.

During the postseason Tyler Toffoli, Nick Suzuki, Joel Armia and Jesperi Kotkaniemi have each scored four goals to lead Montreal, while Toffoli is the leader in assists with seven and in overall points with 11. Shea Weber has a team-high 18 penalty minutes. In goal, Carey Price is 8-4-0 with a goals-against average of 2.15, save percentage of .929 and one shutout.

Vegas looks for its fifth consecutive victory and a 2-0 lead in the series when hosting Montreal on Wednesday. In Game 1, Shea Theodore opened the scoring for Vegas and was followed by goals from Alex Martinez, Mattias Janmark and Nick Holden. Vegas netminder Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 28 of 29 shots he faced in net, with a save percentage of .966.

The leading goal scorer for Vegas during the postseason is Jonathan Marchessault with six and Mark Stone has scored five. William Karlsson is the leader in assists for Vegas with eight and the center is the overall leader in points with 12. Ryan Reaves has a team-high of 16 penalty minutes. In goal, Marc-Andre Fleury is 9-4-0 with a goals-against average of 1.84, save percentage of .927 and one shutout.

Vegas will pick up another victory in Game 2 on Wednesday and take a 2-0 lead in the series, but the play here is UNDER. Vegas goalie Marc-Andre Fleury is allowing an average of only 1.84 goals per game during the postseason and in Game 1 at home allowed just one goal and the UNDER cashed. The UNDER has cashed in four of the Golden Knights last six versus an opponent with a losing record overall. In addition, the UNDER has cashed in six of Montreal’s last eight as the dog. Final Score Prediction, Vegas Golden Knights win but our best play is UNDER 4-0.
