Toronto has started to fall out of contention in the race for the Atlantic Division. Granted, the Maple Leafs are sitting in 3rd place in the Atlantic, but it will be difficult to overcome the 14 points the Leafs are missing. The good news is the Maple Leafs do play the weak Ottawa team on Saturday which could give the Maple Leafs a chance to bounce back after losing 3-2 to the Dallas Stars.

When it comes to scoring this year the Maple Leafs have not been horrible getting 3.52 goals a game. The defense for Toronto has allowed only 3.24 goals a game. The power play for Toronto is converting at 25.2% on the year, but the penalty kill needs some improvement as it sits at 77.8% on the season.

Buffalo is one of those team that has seemed to fade each year as the season draws out. The Sabres had been leading the Atlantic at various points on the year. The Sabres on the year have posted a 26-24-8 record on the year. The last game on the ice for Buffalo was a 4-3 win over the Blue Jackets.

The offense for Buffalo needs to improve as the Sabres have only managed to get 2.84 goals a game. The defense for the Sabres have allowed 3.09 goals a game. The Buffalo team has converted on the power play at 19.3% on the year and the penalty kill is sitting at 75% on the year.

The Buffalo team has not really looked that impressive on the year lately. Yes, the Sabres have managed to get some wins, but those wins have not been the dominating performances Buffalo had earlier on the year. The Maple Leafs have looked great on the year so far, but the Maple Leafs also have an offense that has been able to dominate a lot of the weaker defenses and that is what Buffalo has. Final Score Prediction, Toronto Maple Leafs win 5-2.
