Maple Leafs at Bruins 4/13/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Wow, did the Maple Leafs look good in the opening game of the series or what? The Maple Leafs were able to dominate the Bruins from the opening of the puck and once the penalty shot happened against the Bruins and Rask was beaten badly the Maple Leafs did not look back. The Bruins attempted to put up a fight, but the Bruins were playing very sloppy and looked like they had not practiced for the playoffs or the Maple Leafs since the season ended this past weekend. Frederik Andersen was able to lead the Maple Leafs in the net as he only allowed 1 goal to be scored. Andersen faced only 38 shots in the game, but he did turn away 37 of the shots. What is even better is he managed to get a total of 34 saves on equal strength, but he managed to turn away 3 short handed shots as well.

Tukka Rask is projected to be in the net for the Bruins and he was roughed up in the first game. Rask faced a total of 32 shots in the game and 3 of them sailed by him. He did have 26 equal strength saves, but he had only a single power play save and 2 short handed saves in the game.

The Maple Leafs were able to dominate the Bruins in the opening game of the series and really had Rask fooled on quite a few plays. The Maple Leafs, should be able to continue to do this as the Leafs looked great in the opening game and that definitely helped the team out in getting quite a bit of confidence heading into the game here. Final Score Prediction, Toronto Maple Leafs win 3-1.
