Lightning at Wild 1/16/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Tampa Bay has come flying back in the Atlantic Division and now are putting pressure on Boston for the lead in the Atlantic Division. The Lightning have a 28-14-4 record on the year with 60 points total. The Lightning have ended up getting a 4-3 win over the Kings in their last game in what ended up being a very impressive win for Tampa.

This year the offense for Tampa Bay has started to come to life on the year with 3.58 goals a game being scored. The defense for Tampa Bay has allowed only 2.89 goals a game this year. The Tampa Bay team has started to improve to 27.8% conversion on the power play while the penalty kill is sitting at 83.4% on the year.

With the Minnesota Wild the team has ended up going 1-4 in their last 5 games on the year so far. Those losses have dropped the Wild to a 20-20-6 record on the year and have a lot of fans questioning if Boudreau should still be in charge. The most recent loss was very embarrassing as Pittsburgh beat the Wild by a 7-3 score.

The offense for the Wild have continued to have issues with 2.98 goals a game being scored. The defense for the Wild has played decent on the year, but is under a lot of pressure with 3.29 goals a game allowed. The Wild have ended up converting on the power play at 17.5% on the year and the penalty kill is sitting at 76.5%  on the season.

The Wild are playing horrible on the offensive side of the puck and even at home the Wild have not been able to improve like they should be doing. The Lightning, though, are coming in playing red hot in the NHL and definitely are looking like a team that can improve even more on the year and that depends on the defensive play of the Lightning, which will definitely play a lot better here. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Lightning win 5-0.
