The Lightning have definitely not reached their stride on the ice this year as the team has only managed to get a 2-2-1 record on the year. The problem is the Lightning in most of the years have already been running away with the division and starting to make the opponents try to figure out who was going to get the second seed in the playoffs.

Oddly the Canadiens have been able to play decent hockey on the year. Granted, they have not really gone out and controlled any of the games they have played in and crushed their opponent, but they have been able to do just enough to lock down the wins. That consistency is what has led the Canadiens to winning more games than losing so far this year.
