The Jets have a chance to be a great team again this year and opening on the road could actually be a good thing for Winnipeg. Granted, the Jets are a team that has been able to play decent on the road in the preseason. In the last 5 games to close out the preseason the Jets went 2-3 and on the road the Jets ended up going 1-1 on the last 2 road games the team played.
Blake Wheeler is coming back for the Jets this season. However, he is starting to get a little bit older and he may have to think about cutting back his shifts as he is older for the hockey year at 33. Connor Hellebuyck is back as well for the Jets in net this year and that could help the Jets out quite a bit in getting the win.
The Devils were a team that really had issues last year and started to falter quite early on this year. The Devils are a team that would like to carry over their preseason wins as the Devils ended up playing some great games in the preseason and the offense showed up quite a bit. Not to mention, the defense actually looked great as well and ended up shutting out the Blue Jackets offense.
One big move that the Devils made was the acquisition of P.K. Subban. Subban recently played for the Predators and brings his big name play to the Devils who really need to have a player who can come into the game and guide them to a win.
