The New York Islanders play the Buffalo Sabres in this game. The Sabres are one of those teams that has really been one of the surprise teams on the season and in the NHL so far. However, one thing the Sabres do need to do is make sure they are playing on the ice at the same time offensively as the times the defense is showing up.

The Sabres offense has been a little bit suspect at times. However, the Sabres defense has been one of the bright shining spots on the team. You will find that the goalie has really been outperforming himself on the season so far as he has been able to keep the Sabres competitive and in almost all the games when the offense is not showing up. On the year the Sabres goalie has actually been able to keep the opponent's down to a total of 2.84 goals per game. The Sabres offense has been able to score 2.87 goals per game. The Islanders have been a little bit suspect a time with the way they have been playing. They have managed to go from the top of the Metropolitan Division all the way to the middle of the pack and they are struggling to make it any higher in the division. A key point is the fact that the Islanders offense and defense never really match up on the ice that much. The Islanders goalie has been letting from very easy shots get by him and that has been an issue for most of the season. But when the shots go by the Islanders goalie though he doesn't have offensive support in place to help them overcome the goals that should have been stopped.

So far this season the Islanders have been able to score only 2.92 goals a game. However, the defense is giving up 2.72 goals a game.
