The Islanders are sitting in second place in the Metro this year and are only trailing the Washington Capitals by 7 points. In their last game the Islanders were able to record a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, but the way the Lightning have played this year that type of win was kind of expected.

Mathew Barzal is the leading player for the Islanders when it comes to the offensive side of the puck. Barzal has put in 12 goals and 14 assist. However, Barzal also leads the Islanders in the scoring with 26 points overall. Thomas Greiss is the goalie who leads the Islanders in net with 10 wins. Greiss has saved 93% of the shots sent towards him, but also has a 2.24 goal against average.

With the Florida Panthers the team is heading into the game here with a  15-10-5 record on the year nd are sitting in 3rd place in the Atlantic Division. The Panthers are also 11 points back from the Boston Bruin who lead the Atlantic. The last game on ice for the Panthers was a 2-1 loss to Tampa.

Brett Connolly is the leading goal scorer for the Panthers with 14 goals. Jonathan Huberdeau has managed to get 26 assist and leads the Panthers in overall points at 37. Sergei Bobrovsky is the goalie the Panthers have come to rely on this year with 11 wins, but also only 3.19 goals a game allowed. Bobrovsky still has an 89.8% of the shots saved on the year.

The Panthers are playing at home, but have a lot worse goalie in net to start the game than the Islanders. Granted, Bobrovsky can show up big in almost any game, but this game the Islanders have way too much offensive power. Then the Panthers offense, will continue to have issues scoring big like it did in their recent loss to Tampa. Final Score Prediction, New York Islanders win 2-1.
