In what is sure to be a great game the Islanders are going to be playing the Capitals on the final day of the season. These two teams have been neck-and-neck in the race for the Metropolitan Division lead for most of the season. Now, the Capitals are in control when it comes down to the end of the line and it can actually make a difference in the seeding for the Capitals and allow them to have a better seed and face some of the weaker competition which could allow the Capitals to end up back in the Stanley Cup finals if they can get by the Tampa Bay Lighting who may end up being one of the main teams that qualifies for the Eastern Conference Finals this year.
The Islanders are projected to start Robin Lehner in this game he is the one who has managed to pick up 24 wins for the Islanders he is also managed to save 92.8% of the shots have been sent his way. When he is playing Lehner often only allows 2.18 goals.

For the Washington Capitals they're projected to start Braden Holtby who has picked up 32 wins for the Capitals on the season and has saved 91.1% of the shots that have been sent his way. He is not as good in the goals allowed department as Lehner he has allowed 2.82 goals a game.

The Capitals are coming into this game playing at home and they're also playing against the Islanders both teams are qualified for the playoffs. The Islanders cannot really change their seeding in the playoffs and that is not going to make a difference to the Islanders if they win this game or lose the game. For the Islanders they are better matched in goal but the offense of Alex Ovechkin is going to actually make a difference as the Washington Capitals bring home the win. Final Score Prediction, Washington Capitals win 3-2.
