The Carolina Hurricanes end their NHL regular season with a visit to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday. Carolina defeated the New Jersey Devils on Thursday and coupled with a loss by the Montreal Canadians qualified for the postseason. Philadelphia lost its fourth straight game on Thursday after falling to the St. Louis Blues 7-3. The Flyers gave up five goals in the first period to trail after one 5-3 and could not score again the rest of the way. Claude Giroux, James Van Riemsdyk and Oskar Lindblom scored for Philadelphia. Brian Elliott was replaced in goal for the Flyers by Carter Hart in the first period after allowing four goals on just five shots. Sebastian Aho is the Carolina leader in goals scored with 30 and points with 83. Teuvo Teravainen leads in assists with 54. Goalie Petr Mrazek is 24-13-3 with a goals against average of 2.39 and a save percentage of .914. Carolina is 17th in goals scored per game at 2.95 and 6th in goals against at 2.69.

Sean Couturier leads the Flyers in goals scored with 32. Claude Giroux leads the Flyers in assists with 61 and points with 83. Goalie Carter Hart is 16-12-1 and has a goal’s against average of 2.79 and .919 save percentage. Philadelphia is 18th in goals scored at 2.94 and 29th in goals against at 3.41.

Philadelphia goes home for the summer following this game and will have one skate out the door before the game is even finished, while Carolina just clinched a playoff berth and will want to win to guarantee a No. 7 spot in the playoff seeding and not No. 8 as they are three points ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets but Columbus has two games remaining to just one for Carolina.
