On Saturday, the Carolina Hurricanes visit the nation’s capital to play the Washington Capitals. Carolina opened its regular season with a 4-3 victory over the Montreal Canadians. Dougie Hamilton scored during the shootout and Petr Mrazek made three saves during the tiebreaker to help lift the Hurricanes to the win. Washington will be playing the second half of a back-to-back on Saturday after visiting the New York Islanders on Friday.
