Flyers at Capitals 1/8/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Flyers are one of the worst teams in the NHL and even with the different changes to the coaching staff and the management of the team it has not made much in the way of changes for the Flyers. What does not help the Flyers out in the game here is the fact the team is coming into the game with 6 straight losses hanging on them heading into the game on Monday.

On the year the Flyers have been able to rely on Claude Giroux to do most of the scoring for the team on the season. Giroux has been able to score a total of 46 points with 13 goals and 33 assist. The goal leader for the Flyers has been Sean Courturier who has managed to get 15 goals on the year. For the Capitals they have started to really pull out all the stops on the year and definitely look like they are a team that is going to make a strong run for a repeat. However, the Capitals are a team that needs to show up big against the teams that are on the weaker side of the season as well as the Capitals have had some games where they have played down to the competition level.

The Capitals have been able to rely on Alex Ovechkin to do the scoring for the team as he has managed to get a total of 47 points with 30 of those points coming from his team lead in goals. When it comes to getting the assist lead that has fallen on the shoulders of Nicklas Backstrom who has put in a total of 34 assist.
