Flames at Penguins 2/16/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Flames have been able to take back the first place spot in the Pacific from the Sharks. However, the only reason the Flames have been able to secure that spot is they are sitting in control over the tie break in the standings. Outside of that the Flames and the Sharks are in a dead tie, but whichever team finishes in second place will be well ahead of the Golden Knights who have 66 points on the year.

The Flames have definitely found a major talent that has developed on the year and is getting the needed support this season in Johnny Gaudreau. Gaudreau on the year has been able to get a total of 78 points on the season with 49 assist and 29 goals. The Penguins are sitting in a tie for 3rd place in the Metro Division, but are trailing the tie mate the Blue Jackets as the Jackets hold the tie break in the year. However, the Penguins are a team that has to be worried about the Hurricanes who are right behind them in the standings and could easily take down the Penguins and Jackets alike in the standings.

This season the Penguins have been able to rely on Sidney Crosby, but he is not as big a talent as usual with only 66 points. He has managed to get 42 assist on the year and 24 goals. The leading goal scorer for the Penguins is Jake Guentzel who has put in 27 goals.
