Edmonton Oilers at Detroit Red Wings 2/7/23 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Last Updated: 02/06/2023 at 10:09 PM ET

This Tuesday, the Edmonton Oilers will head to Detroit to take on the Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena. The Edmonton Oilers will head into this game against the Detroit Red Wings following a very fun weekend as Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Stuart Skinner all represented Edmonton and their fans at this year’s all star game. Unfortunately the Pacific got bounced in their first and only game against the Central but nonetheless, everyone had fun.

The Oilers are having a somewhat okay season as they are just hanging onto a wildcard spot in the Western Conference with an overall record of 28-18-4 for 60 points through 59 games played this season. Connor McDavid has been the NHL’s biggest story again this season just like he is every other season. McDavid is on a whole other level this season as he currently leads the NHL in a bunch of categories this season as he has 41 goals, 51 assists, and 92 points in only 50 games played (almost two points a game).

The Detroit Red Wings started this season as one of the NHL’s best but quickly showed their true colors as they’re now not even close to a wildcard spot let alone a divisional playoff spot. Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin represented the Red Wings and their fans this past weekend and had a very successful weekend as Larkin and team Atlantic won the $1,000,000 and Larkin put the puck in the net multiple times in both games.

Larkin has hands down been the Red Wings best player this season as he currently leads the team in multiple categories with 15 goals, 28 assists, and 43 points in only 47 games played. There is some speculation that the Red Wings will trade Larkin but nothing is set in stone. Although it is highly unlikely due to the salary cap, Larkin did have some phenomenal chemistry with Mitch Marner this past weekend.

This game is nothing but a mismatch as the Oilers are actually in the playoff race. Expect Mcdavid, Draisaitl, and the rest of the Oilers to dominate this game from the opening faceoff until the final buzzer. Final Score Prediction, Edmonton Oilers win 6-2.
