The Edmonton Oilers will be heading to the First Niagara Center this Friday to take on the Buffalo Sabres in a Friday Night match up. The Oilers are 4-7-1 on the year and have yet to eclipse the double digit point mark on the season. Buffalo is almost as bad as they stand at 3-9-2 on the season. The Sabres are coming off of a shoot out loss to the tough Montreal Canadiens whereas the Oilers have a loss to the Philadelphia Flyers in their rearview mirror.
Edmonton has shown themselves to be a resilient team on offense but their defense has been lacking all year long. The Oilers average 2.5 goals per game while giving up almost 4 on defense. Their inability to protect the defensive end of the ice has crippled whatever optimism they may have for the rest of the season and it will stay that way unless they can fix their defensive woes.
Buffalo is dead last in the league in scoring and almost as bad in defending their net. Honestly, it's a wonder that they've gotten 3 wins so far this season. They’ve had very little to root for on the ice outside of right wing Drew Stafford.

Free NHL Pick:
Buffalo is our favorite team to fade in NHL and even the home ice can't get us off of fading Buffalo. Sabres are just terrible and even Edmonton road struggles aren't enough to get Sabres a rare win. Final Score Prediction, Edmonton Oilers win 2-0.
