The Devils are one of the worst teams in the NHL and unlike a lot of the teams that did some major sell offs at the trade deadline the Devils did not really make a lot of flashy news. However, the Devils are a team that can definitely pull of the upsets on the year. The Devils did manage to bring home a decent battle against the Blue Jackets, but did fall short in the attempted win.

With the Devils the team has been able to score only 2.81 goals a game on the year, but the defense has given up 3.30 goals a game. The Devils have converted on the power play at 17.8% on the year, but the Devils have killed off a decent 83.5% of the opponents power plays. The Capitals have finally taken the top spot in the Metro and look like they are going to have a chance to hold onto the position. However, the Capitals do have to be careful as the Islanders are breathing right down their neck. What else could be problematic for the Capitals is the fact the Penguins and Capitals are only 6 points behind them in the standings as well in the very tight top at the Metro.

For their part the Capitals have been able to get a total of 3.39 goals a game on the year, but defensively the Capitals have ended up allowing only 3.13 goals a game. The Capitals power play conversion sits at 22.1% on the year, but the defense has managed to kill off 78.6% of the opponents power plays.

The Capitals are at home and the team is one of the better ones when playing at home. However, the Devils are playing poorly and that is going to be a problem for the Devils in this game as the Capitals are able to control the game. Final Score Prediction, Washington Capitals win 4-3.
