The Devils are trying to avoid being one of the worst teams in the NHL this year. The downside for the Devils is the struggles are quite real and definitely are a major issue for the team. The Devils even lost their last game heading into play on Friday to the Ottawa Senators, who have been horrible on the year. The Devils have posted a 5-8-4 record on the year so far.

With the New Jersey Devils the offense has managed to score a total of 2.53 goals a game on the year with 12.9% conversion on the power play. When playing defense the Devils have allowed 3.65 goals a game on the year, but have killed off 74.1% of the opponents power plays on the year.

Montreal has bounced all over the place on the year so far. The Canadiens, though, have improved to the point that the Canadiens are sitting in 2nd place in the Atlantic Division. The Canadiens have posted a 10-5-3 record on the year. The Canadiens do play the Capitals on Friday night, but in the game before Friday night the Canadiens won against the Blue Jackets.

This year the Canadiens have ended up playing well enough to score 3.44 goals a game and have converted on the power play at 20.7% on the year. The Canadiens have allowed only 3.06 goals a game on the year. When the Canadiens have played defense on the power play the Montreal team has killed of 73.7% of the power plays faced.

The Devils offense has struggled and the defense has been downright horrible. Look for that to continue in this game here as the Devils are unable to do much against the Canadiens in this game. What else helps the Canadiens out is the offensive power the team is able to bring to the ice leads to the Canadiens getting the win. Final Score Prediction, Montreal Canadiens win 5-2.
