Dallas Stars at Toronto Maple Leafs 10/20/22 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Dallas Stars travel to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs, aiming to keep a three game winning streak alive. The Stars are currently first place in the Central division with a record of 3-0-0. Dallas last played Monday night against the Winnipeg Jets, winning 4-1. Four different Stars scored goals in the win with Tyler Seguin, Jani Hakanpaa, Joel Kiviranta and Miro Heiskanen each finding the net once. Goalie Jake Oettinger made 24 saves on 25 shots allowed with the one goal getting by him in the first period.

Dallas Stars left winger Mason Marchment leads the team in goals scored with three so far this season. Jason Robertson leads the Stars in assists with four. Defensively Dallas has been tough to score on, averaging one goal against per game and shutting down penalties with a 92.9 penalty kill percentage. Stars goalie Jake Oettinger has played all three games of the season and has 84 saves on 87 total shots allowed.

Toronto is at home for the fourth game in a row and sits fifth in the Atlantic Division with a 2-2-0 record. The Maple Leafs look to get back in the win column following a 4-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes. William Nylander and Mitchell Marner each scored a goal in the third period to tie the game 2-2 before giving up a power play and an empty net goal to end the game. Toronto goalie Erik Kallgren had 15 saves on 18 total shots allowed and three goals against him for a .833 save percentage on the night.

Maples Leafs center William Nylander leads the team in scoring with three goals while teammates John Tavares and Morgan Rielly share the team lead spot for assists with four each. Toronto has had three different goalies in net so far this season with Ilya Samsonov being the best of the bunch. Samsonov is 2-0 with 50 saves on 54 total shots allowed and averaging two goals against per game.

Dallas and Toronto match up well with both teams having scoring firepower and goalies that have been performing well so far. William Nylander is on the injury report as day to day for the Maple Leafs, which would hurt them offensively if he doesn’t hit the ice. Dallas is averaging 4.33 goals per game while allowing 1 goal against per game on average. Toronto is averaging 2.75 goals per game and allowing 3 goals against per game on average. Toronto will start Samsonov in net and keep this a lower scoring game. Final Score Prediction, Dallas wins 3-2 but best bet is Under the total 6.5.
