Columbus Blue Jackets at Nashville Predators 1/14/21 - NHL Picks & Predictions

This year the Blue Jackets need to find their offense. The Blue Jackets last year scored 2.57 goals per game, but converted on the power play at only 16.4% which was the downfall for the playoffs. Defensively the Blue Jackets allowed a total of 2.61 goals a game and ended up killing off 81.7% of the power plays faced.

With Columbus they are bringing in Max Domi to play at center and will join Pierre-Luc Dubois at center as well. One position the Blue Jackets are slim at is left wing with the only veteran at the position being Nick Foligno. Now, the good news is the Blue Jackets are bringing back Joonas Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins to man the goal.

The Predators were all over the place last year and would have some good runs, but then would have a lot of problems and losses mount. The Nashville team is coming to the game here with a total of 3.07 goals per game while converting on the power play at 17.3%. The defense for the Predators allowed only 3.10 goals a game, but have killed off 76.1% of the power plays faced.

Nashville is having Matt Duchene coming to the roster here. However, the Predators are bringing back Ryan Johansen as well. Filip Forsberg should make quite a contribution for the Predators as well. Protecting the net for the Predators will be split between Pekka Rinne and Juuse Saros.
