The Columbus Blue Jackets will continue a road trip Thursday night with a visit to Edmonton AB to take on the Edmonton Oilers. Columbus has struggled as of late losing three of their last five games played including a 4-3 lost to Vancouver last game out. Despite jumping out to a 3-0 Lead in the first period Columbus goalie Elvis Merzlikins struggled immensely in the net posting a .897 save percentage after allowing four goals on 39 shots in the game.

Offensively Columbus played well in the game punching in three goals on 23 shots. Eric Robinson was the leader of the Columbus offense with two goals on three shots in just over 14.5 minutes on the ice. Max Domi chipped in with one goal, while Alexandre Texier added two assists for the offense.

The Edmonton Oilers are playing their worst hockey of the year as of late coming into Thursday night 16-11-0 this season riding a six game losing streak following a 5-1 blowout loss to Toronto. Mikko Koskinen Stood no chance in the net for Edmonton last game out allowing five goals on 25 shots leading to the blowout loss.

Edmonton has been mediocre thus far this season averaging 3.3 goals per game on 32.3 shots. Leon Draisaitl Leaves the team offense with 45 points and boasts a team high 23 goals on 95 shots. Connor McDavid is the top setup man leading the team with 29 assists.

Edmonton has played terrible as of late and the Blue Jackets will look to take advantage. On paper these team are fairly close and Columbus is playing better as of late.
