Chicago Blackhawks at Colorado Avalanche 10/12/22 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Blackhawks are going to have to try to figure out how to win. The Blackhawks finished the preseason with a record of 1-5-0 and looked horrible in the game. The last game on the ice for the Chicago team was a 6-0 loss against the Saint Louis Blues.

The Blackhawks are definitely not struggling with the depth at the goalie position. The potential starter in the game is Pete Mrazek who has played good at times. Last year Mrazek finished with a 12-6-0 record, but allowed 3.34 goals per game and saved only 88.8% of the shots sent his way.

Colorado is heading to the game here with a preseason that was decent. The Avalanche finished at a 3-3-0 mark in the preseason. Colorado in their last game to end the preseason picked up a low scoring 2-1 victory over the Dallas Stars.

Starting in net for the Avalanche is slated to be Alexandar Georgiev. Georgiev last year finished with a 15-10-2 record and allowed only 2.92 goals per game. Alexandar was able to save 89.8% of the shots that were sent in his direction.

Chicago looked far from impressive in the preseason and often looked like a team that was lost. Look for those losses and the lack luster effort to continue to start the season off for the Blackhawks as the Colorado Avalanche offense is able to dominate in this game to open the season. Final Score Prediction, Colorado Avalanche win on the over 5-2.
