On Friday, the Washington Capitals look for their fourth straight victory when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes. The Capitals defeated the Detroit Red Wings 6-2 in their last outing on Tuesday night. Alex Ovechkin posted a hat trick, while Brett Connolly and Travis Boyd also scored goals. Braden Holtby made 35 saves in net for the Capitals.
Carolina will be playing the second half of a back to back on Friday after playing on the road against the Montreal Canadians on Thursday. Carolina lost its last outing on Tuesday night to the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1. The Hurricanes only goal was scored by Justin Williams. The loss was Carolina’s fourth in its last five games.
