The Vancouver Canucks look to bounce back from a loss their last game when they visit the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. Vancouver was beaten on Monday night by the San Jose Sharks 7-2. In the loss, Bo Horvat and Derrick Pouliot scored goals for the Canucks, while Mike DiPietro made 17 saves in his debut in the NHL in net for Vancouver.

Anaheim lost its seventh straight on Saturday falling to the Philadelphia Flyers 6-2. Anaheim’s only two goals were scored by Adam Henrique and Nick Ritchie. During their seven-game losing skid the Ducks have allowed 37 goals while scoring just 8. The Ducks also fired head coach Randy Carlyle and replaced him with Bob Murray the general manager, as the interim coach.
Elias Pettersson leads the Canucks in goals scored with 25, in assists with 26 and points with 51. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom is 21-15-6 with a goal’s against average of 2.81 and .910 save percentage. Vancouver is 22nd in goals scored per game at 2.84 and 20th in goals against at 3.12.

Jakob Silfverberg leads the Ducks in goal scoring with 12. Ryan Getzlaf is the leader in assists with 25 and points leader with 36. John Gibson is 17-19-8 in net and has a goal’s against average of 2.93 and save percentage of .914. The Ducks are 31st in goals scored at 2.21 and 22nd in goals against at 3.21.

Anaheim is in a big tailspin having lost seven straight, but will receive an emotional boost with a new coach behind the bench. Look for Anaheim to come out strong at home. The home team (Ducks) has won 5 of the last 6 between the two. Vancouver has had its problems in Anaheim losing 4 of the last 5 on the Ducks home ice. Final Score Prediction, Anaheim Ducks win 3-1.
