Canadiens vs Penguins 8/7/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Pittsburgh in the last game looked completely outmatched towards the end. The game was one which the Penguins had been able to pick up quite a few goals, but now are coming into the game facing elimination and need to figure out how to hold onto the lead. The game for the Penguins ended up losing the second and third period, but controlled the first period.

The scoring for the Penguins was handled by Blueger, Hornqvist, and Zucker. The assist for the Penguins was handled by Aston-Reese, Crosby, Malkin, Rust, Tanev, and Marino. For the Canadiens they wre led in the scoring by Byron, Drouin, Petry, and Weber. Passing the puck around was great for Montreal with Chiarot and Weber both getting 2 assist. Byron, Danault, Lehkonen, and Suzuki both managed to get an assist as well.

Protecting the net was the job of Matt Murray and while he played good in the game, he did not really look that great. Murray faced only 31 shots in the game and made 27 saves. Out of the saves he had 21 were equal strength, 1 was a power play save, but he ended up having a total of 5 shorthanded saves.

Carey Price was the goalie who watched the net for the Canadiens. Price ended up facing a total of 33 shots in the game and turned 30 of them away. Priced turned away 26 equal strength saves and 4 shorthanded saves in the game.

The Canadiens managed to luck out in the last game to bring home the win, but now are going to face a Penguins team that will have a chip on their shoulder and fighting to avoid elimination. Look for the Penguins to put up quite a bit of pressure against the Canadiens defense and that will lead to Montreal making mistakes in the game as the Penguins are able to get the puck past the Canadiens goalie to lock down the win. Final Score Prediction, Pittsburgh Penguins win 4-2.
