Canadiens at Leafs 10/5/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Canadiens skated to an overtime loss in their opening game and that is definitely going to be a problem the Canadiens will need to overcome in this game here. However, one issue that the Canadiens are going to have is the fact that they are a team that has to improve on the year defensively as they are giving up 3 goals in the opening game.

All the goals for the Canadiens were scored by different players. The one player that really stand out though is Tomas Tatar who scored the goal. The player who ended up getting the assist for the Canadiens was Jonathan Drouin who ended up with the assist.

The Maple Leafs are heading into this game with a decent win over the Senators. However, just like last season the Senators did not really make the changes that were needed to be seen as a competitive team on the year and that can make it hard for the team to lock down the wins. What else does not help the Maple Leafs out is they did allow the horrible offense of the Senators to score 3 goals on them in the game.

Auston Matthews picked up his game play at the same level that he left it off with as he put in 2 goals in the game. Tyson Barrie did a great job of feeding the puck to the scorers as he ended up getting a couple of assist in the game to help guide the team to the win.
