Canadiens at Capitals 2/20/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

Montreal is one of those teams that has bounced all over the place, but have not controlled that much on the year. The Canadiens are heading into the game here with a 27-27-8 record. The last game on the ice for the Canadiens ended up being a 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings in what was a very poor showing for the Canadiens defense.

Washington is not doing that good in the last few games. The Capitals are 1-4 in the last 5 game and that includes a recent  loss to the Vegas Golden Knights by a 3-2 score.  Even with the losses the Capitals are sitting on a 37-17-5 record on the year and after the Penguins recent win have slipped back to second place in the Metro.

The offense for Washington has not been that bad on the year with 3.47 goals per game being scored. Defensively the Capitals are giving up 3.02 goals per game. The power play for Washington has converted at 20.7% on the year and the penalty kill has ended up killing off 83.9% of the power plays.
