The Boston Bruins continue a west coast road trip to open the season when they visit Sin City on Tuesday to play the Vegas Golden Knights. The Bruins improved to 2-0 on the season with a 1-0 victory on Saturday over the Arizona Coyotes. Brad Marchand scored the game’s only goal and Jaroslav Halak stopped all 35 shots he faced in net as Boston won for the 15th straight time over the Coyotes.
Vegas is 2-0 on the season as well after its 5-1 victory on Friday over the San Jose Sharks. The win completed a home-and-home sweep by the Golden Knights over the Sharks to open the season. Tomas Nosek scored a pair of goals in the win and assisted on another, while goalie Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 34 of 35 shots in net.
Brad Marchand is tied with Brett Ritchie and Danton Heinen for the lead in goals scored at one. Patrice Bergeron is tied with three others for the lead in assists with one apiece and seven members of the Bruins have notched one point. Tuukka Rask is 1-0-0 with goals against of 1.00 and saves percentage of .966.
Reilly Smith and Tomas Nosek lead Vegas in goals scored with two apiece. Mark Stone and William Karlsson are the assists leaders with three apiece, while Stone leads in points with four. Marc-Andres Fleury is 2-0-0 with goals against of 1.00 and saves percentage of .965.
