Bruins at Hurricanes 5/16/19 - NHL Playoffs Picks & Predictions

The Bruins were able to take the first game in Carolina in the series and that definitely gives the Bruins a great chance of locking down the series. The Bruins now have the series lead by a total of 3-0. However, the Bruins did have some challenges in the last game as the Hurricanes definitely improve in the way they were battling in the game with a chance to win a home game.

One thing the Bruins may have to overcome is the fact that they have not won 6 straight playoff games in several years. To eliminate the Hurricanes and complete a sweep the Bruins would have to win 6 straight games and that could really be a major challenge and could put the game out of reach for the Bruins who would have to overcome history. Tukka Rask definitely had a big influence in the last win the Bruins picked up. Rask ended up getting a total of 35 saves in the game and faced a total of 36 shots. However, he had a lot of challenges on the shorthanded side of the puck as the Hurricanes managed to snap off 14 shorthanded shots in the game.

Curtis McElhinney was the goalie the Hurricanes relied on and he did a great job in the game. He faced a total of 31 shots in the game and ended up stopping 29 of them. McElhinney was able to get a total of 8 shorthanded saves in the game as well, but also nailed out a power play save as well.
