The Bruins are looking to shore up their lead over the Maple Leafs in this game and they could not be doing it against a better team. The Devils have struggled most of the season and have become the latest team to fall from playoff contention as they are officially eliminated on the year. Now, the Bruins, though, would like to lock in the number 2 spot in the Atlantic and they can only do that by keeping the Maple Leafs at bay who have been nipping at their skates here recently after having fallen back in the standings quite a bit earlier this year. On the season the Bruins have been able to score at a clip of 3 goals a game. The defense for the Bruins is giving up only 2.49 goals a game. The Bruins have ended up converting on the power play at a rate of 26.2%, but the penalty kill for the Bruins is sitting at the point of 81.3% on the year.

For the Devils the offense has been able to score at a clip of only 2.74 goals a game, but the defense has been horrible as they are giving up 3.36 goals per game. The Devils have converted on the power play at 17.5% on the season, but have managed to kill off 84% of the opponents power plays so far.
