Bruins at Blackhawks 1/1/19 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks are going to be playing in one of the best hockey games you can find as they get the play against each other at the United Center in Chicago. Normally, this game would be a lot more competitive than what it's going to end up being as the Chicago Blackhawks just has not shown up this season. In fact, the Blackhawks have been so bad this season they actually fired a head coach already and the replacement coach has not made much in the way of changes to help guide the Blackhawks to win.

Some of the problems for the Blackhawks can stem back to the fact that Corey Crawford has been injured for some of the season, but the rest of the issues may end up coming from the fact that the offensive production just has not shown up like it should on the season. In fact, for the Blackhawks this year they've only been able to get 2.9 goals per game but what is really sad is the defense has been giving up 3.61 on the year. Now with Boston, they're actually playing halfway decent. The Bruins are sitting in fourth place in the Atlantic division. This stems from them being able to avoid the injury bug for some of the year, however, they have had some injuries that are creeping up slowly but most of the star players have been able to avoid the injuries and suspensions for hits and different aspects of rules violations.

On the season the Bruins offense has been doing decently as they have been scoring 2.79 goals per game. Defensively, as well as Rask and company are only giving up 2.64 goals per game.
