Boston Bruins vs Tampa Bay Lightning 8/25/20 - NHL Picks & Predictions

The Boston Bruins play Game 2 of their best-of-seven NHL Eastern Conference semifinals series on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Boston defeated Tampa Bay 3-2 in Game 1 on Sunday to take a 1-0 in the series. Jaroslav Halak made 35 saves in net to earn his fourth consecutive victory since starting goaltender Tuukka Rask opted out of the postseason for the Bruins.

Brad Marchand is leading Boston in goals scored during the postseason with four, while Center David Krejci is leading in assists with seven and points with 10. Jeremy Lauzon is the leader in penalty minutes with 18. Jaroslav Halak is 4-1 with a goals-against average of 2.23 and a save percentage of .921.

Tampa Bay was only able to beat Halak twice with its 37 shots on goal in their Game 1 loss to the Bruins. Tampa Bay received both of its goals from Victor Hedman in the final 11 minutes of the third period. Tampa Bay had plenty of opportunities in the first two and a half periods but were stymied by the veteran Boston netminder on several occasions.

Brayden Point is leading Tampa Bay in goals scored during the postseason with five and in points with 11. Nikita Kucherov is the leader in assists with seven and Blake Coleman is leading in penalty minutes with 17.  In goal, Andrei Vasilevskiy is 6-3  with a goals-against average of 2.08 and a save percentage of .925.

While Tampa Bay will bounce back with a victory in Game 2 of the series on Tuesday, the play here is the UNDER. The UNDER has cashed in 8 of the Bruins last 10 and in eight of the Lightning's last 10. In addition, when the two teams have played head-to-head the UNDER has cashed in four the last five. Final Score Prediction, Tampa Bay Lightning win but our best play is UNDER 3-1.
