The Bruins are looking to improve off of how they finished last year. The Bruins offense last season scored 3.24 goals per game while converting on 25.2% of the power plays. Defensively the Bruins allowed a total of 2.39 goals per game while killing off a very nice 84.2% of the power plays faced.

Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Brad Marchand are all coming back for the Bruins on the season. The Bruins are also bringing back David Pastrnak as well to help bolster up their offense. Now, the Bruins do have Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak coming back to mind the net, but remember the Bruins were missing one of them in the middle of the restart after he left the bubble.

New Jersey is heading to the game here with a chance to rebuild off of their surges they had last season, but it could be a challenge for the Devils. The Devils last year put in 2.68 goals per game and converted on the power play at a clip of 17.9%. Defensively the Devils allowed 3.25 goals per game and killed off a total of 82.4% of the power plays.

Kyle Palmieri and P.K. Subban are both coming back to the ice in the Devils uniform this season. However, both of the players are hanging around the 30 year mark and may start to fade in their later years. Mackenzie Blackwood is the goalie who is projected to start in the net in the game here, but he is fairly young.

The lack of star power for the Devils will definitely prove to be difficult for the Devils to compete with the Bruins. The Bruins have a very powerful offense that should be able to put quite a bit of pressure on Blackwood and help to bring home the win in this game as Blackwood is unable to hold the line after multiple shots. Final Score Prediction, Boston Bruins win 3-1.
